I use BTGuard and like it. So getting a good VPN service is critical. For just occasional use you could use TOR. It bounces your connection through multiple locations before going to the general internet. It is slow though. They have a browser bundle that's dead simple to use. You can even put it on a usb and not have to install it on the PC you're using. Would recommend BTGuard - simple and easy to use - and they don't keep records.
