Why does scarface die
Since its release in , Brian De Palma's Scarface has stood near the top in the annals of gangster cinema. Al Pacino's testosterone and coke-fueled lead role, the pumped-up '80s soundtrack, rags-to-riches story, and downpour of blood-soaked violence make for an epic that stands the test of time.
It's all tied together by the brutal ending sequence at Tony Montana's mansion. In the vein of other De Palma classics like Phantom of the Paradise , Carrie , Blow-Out , and Carlito's Way , it is an ending which is poetic in its inevitable tragedy and carnage.
Yet, if one takes into account the video game Scarface: The World Is Yours , the fate of Tony Montana is a much different one than what viewers saw on the silver screen.
In the final sequence of the Scarface movie, Tony Montana's home is attacked by the armed mercenaries of Bolivian cocaine kingpin Alejandro Sosa. All of Montana's bad decisions stem from this first transgression. After impressing Frank by murdering Rebenga, the druglord gives Montana the mission of delivering a bundle of cocaine to Columbian dealers. Once the deal goes awry, a gory bloodbath ensues that would make even Leatherface blush! During the spoiled deal, Montana's best friend Angel is brutally murdered with a chainsaw.
With Montana the next to die, he makes a narrow escape when Manny stops flirting with girls on the street and saves the day. Still, Montana does not leave until killing the remaining Colombians who killed Angel. In The Godfather , Sonny Corleone advises his brother Michael not to take things too personally in business. He and my mother hosted countless dinner parties filled with great food, music, laughter and conversation into the wee hours. He lived and loved fully, and truly believed he was the luckiest man on earth.
